Born in Mississippi, Wade's professional and cultural identity was forged in the legacy of The South.
Trained as an epidemiologist, Wade worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for 14 years, combating HIV and addressing the needs of the most marginalized populations. In this role, Wade conducted trainings on stigma, discrimination, and marginalization for international agencies and ministries of health from multiple countries in Asia, Africa, and Central
America to enhance HIV prevention services for disadvantaged populations.
Wade has been an adjunct faculty member at George Washington University, and Morehouse College, teaching public health, infectious disease control, and how race and racism impact health.
He received a Master of Public Health from the University of Michigan and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Wade is also an HBCU graduate, receiving his bachelor’s degree from Grambling State University.
With over 20 years of public health and training experience, Brandy has worked in various prestigious institutions, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Georgia Health Policy Center at Georgia State University, ETR Associates, statewide and global nonprofits, and local public health districts. Her passion for sex education, mental health services, and racial equity has been demonstrated in the innovative and engaging trainings she has designed and facilitated.
Brandy’s focus on addressing the impact of inequities and discrimination on marginalized communities is the essence of the Ivy Equity Project. Her commitment to creating values-neutral and inclusive environments in training is vital to delivering safe and engaging trainings.
Brandy holds a Doctorate in Health Education from A.T. Still University and a master’s and bachelor’s degree from the University of Mississippi. Her commitment to academia is evident in her role as a public health adjunct professor at Trident University, Kent State University, and formerly California Baptist University, where she continues contributing to the field.
Rashid is a published expert in Social Epidemiology, health disparities and equity science at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention where he informs evidence-based practices to address health disparities, enriching his roles as public health faculty at Mercer University and Morehouse College.
He is a social justice advocate and community engagement consultant with over 20 years of community-based public health experience. Rashid collaborates with stakeholders to drive sustainable health outcomes, furthering his commitment to youth empowerment and social justice.
Rashid received his Master of Public Health and Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, his Master of Social Work from Boston University, and his bachelor's degree from Penn State University.
